I know I’ve probably said this before… but this might be my favorite thing I’ve ever made! I’m pretty smitten with it, guys. This project is up-cycling and re-purposing at its finest, and the results are simply stunning!

Somehow over the years I’ve collected quite a collection of old keys that I have NO idea what they go to anymore. Does that happen to you too? I’ve kept them all in a little jar, thinking that someday I’ll come up with something super awesome to do with them, and finally the old noggin came up with an idea!

Specimen Art. I LOVE specimen art! Something about a bunch of pretty things lined up in perfect, uniform rows makes my heart sing with joy. OCD much? These gorgeous keys started as bright, shiny, new silver, but you’d never be able to tell by the beautiful patina I added with just a few easy steps. SUPER easy to do!

P.S. If my husband asks why any keys are missing… you NEVER saw this. 😉

I love specimen art too, the options are almost endless. I love the keys idea, where do all those old keys come from? We have a little tub full and you can’t throw them just in case they are for something after all. This way you at least make them look nice!
