How to Make a Donut Hole Tree

Now that the house is decorated and the presents are bought and wrapped, I’m starting to plan for our holiday gatherings, and in my family, food is always the first thing we think about. What yummy things are we going to eat? When I posted our Christmas dessert table a few weeks ago, the biggest question I got was how I made the glorious donut hole tree that became the centerpiece of our table, so today I’m going to show you how I did it!

The holidays can be such a busy time, so I’m all about anything I can do to make our Christmas special and fun without taking a ton of time or money, and this donut hole tree is absolutely perfect for that! You just need a few supplies and some delicious donut holes, and in about 20 minutes you can have a big, beautiful, edible decoration that will really wow your friends and family!

Honey Nut Rugelach

Christmas decorations are going up all around the farmhouse, and even though we haven’t quite made it to Thanksgiving yet, I can’t help looking forward to baking Christmas cookies and watching our favorite Christmas movies and helping the kiddos make their lists for Santa. I just love this time of year, and I want to enjoy it as long as I can!

Every Christmas I always make sugar cookie cut-outs with this fail-proof recipe, and then I’ll bake a few other types of cookies like my snowball cookies, molasses cookies¬†or frosted sugar cookie bars. This year I wanted to try something a little different, and I settled on a recipe for Honey Nut Rugelach, which are the most tender, flaky little pastries wrapped with a sweet honey walnut filling and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar on top. They are so delicious and make the perfect, little holiday cookies!

I think what I love about them the most is they remind me of an old family recipe with the flavors of honey and walnut, and it’s such a comforting smell when they’re baking up in the oven. This rugelach recipe takes a little more preparation and effort, but I promise you the end result will be very much worth it! Crunchy and sweet… tender and soft… and absolutely delicious!

Farmhouse Christmas Kitchen + Gingerbread Bundt Cake

The other day I was working on decorating our kitchen a little bit for the holidays, and I realized that this time last year we were still living with our old kitchen and just about to completely tear everything down almost to the studs. It feels like forever since we were living through that month long renovation with construction dust everywhere and eating microwave dinners more times than I want to count, but it is such an amazing feeling to have this beautiful space now, especially around the holidays.

I’ve been doing a ton¬†of baking in here lately, and I have an amazing Gingerbread Bundt Cake recipe that I want to share with you today. It is so simple to whip up¬†and makes a beautiful centerpiece for your holiday table with very little effort! But first, let’s take a little tour around the kitchen…
