Every spring, I like to change out a few things to keep our home feeling fresh. Often I’ll just rotate some of my favorite things I already own from room to room, reimagining a new way to style a particular piece. Sometimes that might be pillows, artwork, the type of flowers or greenery I have in a vase, or even just rotating through my candle collection for a more seasonally appropriate scent.
But I always take a peek at what’s new in stores to see if I find anything to fill a gap in what I don’t have at home, and I found some really great pieces I wanted to share with you.
console table | rattan design planters | buffet lamp base | pleated lamp shade | down to earth book | gather at home book
terracotta vase | faux sage blossom stem | canvas wall art | velvet pillows (similar) | leather sofa | wall paint color
The first thing I bought was a set of 2 rattan design oval planters for some cute new house plants. The texture is so beautiful, and I love how cozy they make the console table behind our sofa feel. I put a little olive tree in the larger planter and I believe a string of hearts plant in the smaller one, and the darker green foliage pairs beautifully with this faux sage blossom stem from our own home decor boutique, Grow + Gather.
This is the first leather sofa I’ve ever owned, and I was surprised how soft and comfy it is. Love the extra wide seats and armrests, and the cool toned brown leather is absolutely what sold me.
The large terracotta vase came from Pottery Barn – you can see more of my recent Pottery Barn shopping trip here.
I shared my trick for creating this large scale canvas wall art under $100 here and some of my favorite books with beautiful spines and covers for styling here.

concrete bust planter | l-shape rotating desk | round white vase
desk chair | leather desk pad
The second thing I bought was another planter, but this one was a pretty concrete bust – can you tell I have spring on my mind and can’t wait to get outdoors to start planting flowers?
I’m still looking for the perfect spot for her, but for now she’s hanging out in my office on my new L-shape desk with built-in bookshelves. It was an investment piece for sure, but one that I have zero regrets about purchasing. It has a wide opening on one side to accomodate a wider, more comfy office chair, and I believe it’s actually ADA compliant for wheelchairs. The other side has beautiful bookshelves for display or storage, and I love that you can pivot the orientation of the desk to best fit your space.
