February Favorite Things

It feels very appropriate to share February’s Favorite Things with you, my Galentine’s, on Valentine’s Day. Last month I highlighted products that have been most helpful in my health/wellness journey, and this month I’m sharing recent favorites that will help with hair growth, clean and organize your home, and save you money on electronics. Plus, you’ll find out the bra that’s replaced all my other bras and the cutest socks to wear with boots or sneakers!

SEAGRASS BASKET FOR TOILET PAPER

I’ve been dreaming up ideas lately to re-do our bathroom and make it more organized and functional for our family, but also cozy and accessible for guests. I already did a major overhaul of our bathroom closet last year, and you can see all the different organizers and space savers I used here.

Until I’m ready to start the whole bathroom makeover, one quick little change I wanted to make was having somewhere to set a couple extra rolls of toilet paper. There’s nothing worse than using someone else’s bathroom and running out of toilet paper with no extra rolls in sight. I found this pretty natural seagrass basket on Amazon, and it’s the perfect size for the top of the toilet tank. Depending on how large of toilet paper rolls you buy, you should be able to fit at least two, maybe even three.

SCRUNCH SOCKS

I’ve become very particular about my socks and have a variety of styles that I like to wear with different outfits. Socks seem like a trivial thing you wouldn’t put much thought into, but I find that a) sock comfort is almost as important as shoe comfort and b) a well-styled sock can be the cutest effortless accessory to many outfits.

I’ve been looking for an affordable pair of really big, extra slouchy scrunch socks to wear with leggings and finally found a set of 3 on Amazon that I love. I opted for white, but they make black, gray, and cream as well. They’re so cute paired with sneakers and an oversized tee or hoodie, plus they keep your feet extra warm in the winter.

Outfit details:

tan open front cardigan coat | white hoodie | black leggings | scrunch socks | crossbody purse | sneakers | (another option)

HIGH SPEED AA AND AAA BATTERY CHARGER

This one is going to save you so much money for years and years to come. I don’t know about your house, but we are constantly going through batteries for remotes, electronics, toys… literally everything, and buying batteries can feel like you’re just tossing money in the garbage.

I bought one of these battery chargers on Amazon along with their rechargeable batteries, and not only does it use a trickle charge to extend battery life, but it also can charge both AA batteries and AAA batteries on the same charger. Also, treat yourself to one of these battery organizers… you’ll thank me later!

ROSEMARY MINT HAIR AND SCALP STRENGTHENING OIL

I’ve been trying some different things lately to better the health of my scalp and for some thinning spots along my hairline. One step I’ve added to my routine is using this scalp massager/shampoo brush (only $7). It feels so good at the end of the day to brush through my hair and give my head a good massage, and I’ll also use it in the shower to really scrub my scalp, which stimulates cells, increases blood flow, and removes product buildup.

I recently started using this Rosemary Mint Hair Oil, and it’s supposed to also increase blood circulation, help with hair growth, and soothe dandruff and/or inflammation. It smells amazing!

How I use it:

On hair washing days (typically every 2-4 days), I’ll apply the oil to my scalp a few hours before jumping in the shower and really work it in with the brush. There’s no magical amount of time to leave it on, but I try to at least let it stay on my scalp for 30 mins to an hour. Then in the shower I will double shampoo (meaning I shampoo twice) to make sure all the oil and any product buildup is gone before conditioning.

ENBLISS WIRELESS BRA

This is the bra that’s replaced all other bras in my drawer. Victoria’s Secret used to be the only place I shopped for bras and panties, but I was introduced to Soma a few years ago and have never looked back. This bra is so comfortable, soft, and smooth under t-shirts. Their Enbliss wireless bra was the first I tried, and I just recently added the Enbliss bralette and Wireless Stay Put Multi-Way Strapless Bra to my collection as well.

WEEKLY PLANNER TO-DO LIST NOTEPAD

I keep all my to-do lists, tasks, and notes digitally in Asana for both work and personal, but I still find it helpful to write out a good old fashioned to-do list on paper to narrow down my tasks for the week. I get overwhelmed when staring at a mile-long list, so writing down a couple of the most important tasks each day helps me stay focused and productive.

I love this little tear off notepad that isn’t specific to any week or month and has nice thick pages that don’t allow any bleedthrough.

FABRIC SHAVER LINT REMOVER

My old fabric shaver bit the dust a few months ago, and I replaced it with this model that’s a little larger, very powerful, and works wonders on our sofas, pillows, sweaters, leggings, and more. This is one of those products you don’t realize you need until you have one, and then you won’t know how you ever went without!
