I’m slowly making some changes in the living room, and while none of them are huge or earth-shattering, in a small space like this little changes can make a big difference! I’m currently waiting on a few items I ordered to come in and the weather to cooperate so I can spend some time outside building and painting. But I started thinking about how we sometimes live in a world of “big reveals” where all at once a huge makeover happens for wow factor, but we lose out on seeing all the little steps and decision making that goes into it along the way.

So today I’m talking about one simple thing I bought for the living room, specifically for the sofa, that I’m obsessed with… a big, cozy, extra long lumbar pillow!

You guys know I lean towards cozy minimalism and don’t like a lot of fluff or clutter, so having a bunch of pillows on the couch tends to drive me nuts. It looks pretty, sure, but as soon as my boys or dog sit down, the pillows end up all over the floor. So I’ve decided to simplify things and use just a few pillows that make a big impact, and this lumbar pillow with tassels definitely fits the bill.

Lumbar pillows are great for adding a little bit of sophistication and simplicity, but they aren’t only limited to the living room. They look great on a bed as well, and if you struggle with how many/what kind of pillows to make your bed with, adding a lumbar may be just what you need! If you like a really low maintenance bed, just put one lumbar pillow in front of the pillows you sleep on for a simple look that takes no time to do in the morning.
