Hey friends! I’m so glad you could join us for another fun link party! This past weekend I got lots of holiday shopping done (… dare I say I’m FINISHED?) and presents wrapped (did you see my crazy wrapping paper choice on Instagram?), but not much else besides that. Some days I feel like I’m just spinning my wheels and even though I get a lot accomplished, there’s still a million things on my list that I didn’t get done. Do you ever feel like that? I’m my worst critic, and a lot of times I feel like I should be Superwoman and be able do everything for everyone… But if I finish a bunch of rockstar projects for my blog, then I have a mountain of dirty laundry and naked little boys wondering where their clean underwear is. If I spend the weekend Christmas shopping, then I’m behind on emails and blog work, which stresses me out. This is definitely something I need to work on for 2014. I’m not going to be 100% perfect at keeping up with everything, but I need to prioritize, schedule, and make time for the most important things in my life. And I need to lighten up on myself! So, here are my plans for the rest of December: Baking. A LOT of it. I want to decorate sugar cookies with my boys, and make homemade candies with my Mom, and not think about the calories I’m eating until January 1. Great diet plan, huh? I want to finish doing some holiday decorating, but not stress over every single room being magazine-worthy. I want to sit on my couch with a big mug of hot chocolate and enjoy peaceful evenings by the Christmas tree with my husband. I want to make memories with my boys and show them the true meaning of Christmas. I’m not sure when this happened, but somehow they have grown from my sweet, tiny babies to handsome, smart, funny young men, and in just a few short years the magic of Christmas will be gone for them. Even the thought of that brings tears to my eyes! So everyday we’re going to continue searching for our Elf on a Shelf, Buddy, and counting down the days till Santa arrives and truly enjoy this wonderful season! Thank you so much, sweet friends, for listening! I love you all dearly .

What a great intro, Liz…you pretty much captured exactly how I’ve been feeling (though I wish I could say I was done with my shopping and wrapping!). ๐ hope you’re getting to spend this evening with that cocoa by the Christmas tree… ๐
Thanks girl! It’s very therapeutic to type that all out! I feel much better now. ๐ And don’t worry, you’re definitely not alone. You’ll get all that shopping done in time and still have plenty of time to snuggle those cute little ones of yours! Thanks so much for stopping by the party!
Thanks for hosting, Liz! I can’t believe you’re done with your shopping! I just barely started! Gosh, I completely agree about to-do list thing. So hard to get everything done and still manage to shower everyday, lol! Us moms are our toughest critics. Thanks for hosting with your busy schedule – I appreciate it! Have a wonderful week!

I can’t believe I’m all done either! Usually I’m still picking gifts up right up until the last second, so I’m thrilled. Now to tackle all the other things that need done! LOL ๐ And you’re so right… some days I don’t even know how I manage to fit a shower in. Life of a Mom I guess! Thanks so much for stopping by the party, Jen!
