Fall Decorated Kitchen

Hello friends! Today I’m sharing something very special with you: my Fall Decorated Kitchen! Other than the giant Fall sign I made for my patio, I really haven’t done much decorating for the season. Sometimes it just seems like such hassle to change everything around and have to re-do it again in a few short weeks. BUT I’ve made huge progress with my kitchen makeover in the past couple months, so I thought I’d stop and enjoy my pretty kitchen with some simple touches of Fall! It’s really the only space that feels somewhat “complete” in my house, so why not start there? Okay, let’s take a little tour!
On the back wall of my kitchen, I created some fantastic Fall chalk art on my DIY chalkboard that really sets the mood for the season. I mean, could you really sum up your feelings for Fall any other way?
Hooray for Pumpkin Pie!

P.S. Click here to learn the easy trick to creating beautiful chalk art!

The frame of my chalkboard is the perfect place to hang a pretty garland, and these sheet music leaves I strung together are simply beautiful. I pieced them together with my sewing machine to really speed up the process! It’s a good thing no one in my family plays piano much, because all our sheet music has been spending quite a bit of time in my craft room lately!

The next wall holds a shelf that I recently refinished and is the perfect place to display some Fall decor. I created a beautiful stained wood mini pallet sign as the backdrop to my little vignette. I originally planned to paint some artwork on it, but I absolutely love the gorgeous wood grain it has, so I  decided to leave it be and hang a little wreath I made over it. It was a super easy project to do and adds a ton of texture and dimension to the display. If you want to know how I made my mini pallet sign, leave me a comment and let me know! I just discovered an awesome new product to use, and I’d be happy to share : )

You may have seen the Fall Photography Collection I added to The Shop this week, and if not you should definitely go check it out! I couldn’t wait to add this print of swirly cinnamon sticks somewhere in my home, and this shelf was the perfect place. Don’t you just love those little curls?

I’m normally a pretty neutral color decorator, but these three little pumpkins provided the perfect splash of Fall color to the shelf. I love how they look standing on their side!

As I was putting together this display, I was also spray painting another project out in my barn, and I found this pretty little feather on one of my trips outside. Gotta love free, nature-inspired decor right?

A vase full of wheat rounds out the display. Love all the texture going on!

This little nook in my kitchen provides the perfect place to display some pumpkins. I have to say, that creamy white one on top of the antique kitchen scale is my favorite. But could have guessed that, right? : )

I covered one of my cookbooks in some brown kraft paper and stamped a little message on the spine. Simple little touches like this just make me smile.

And last but not least is this fake pumpkin I turned into a pretty flower vase. I found this big guy at the end of last season for super cheap, and though he was originally neon green, I knew a little bit of spray paint was all he needed to fit right in at my house. I painted him white, cut a hole in the top, and hand painted a little monogram on the front. These sunflowers were a great dollar store find and really brighten up my kitchen!

So there you have it! Simple, easy Fall decor using mostly things I had around the house. Now please excuse me while I go face plant into some pumpkin pie : )
What’s your favorite part of my Fall decorated kitchen? Do you decorate for Fall?

Some nice ideas. I love the leaf (paper) garlands…my sewing machine is waiting. I would like to see how you did the mini pallet. It would add such texture for decorating.

It was super simple! I just picked up a garland from the craft store (I believe it was Hobby Lobby in their floral section), wrapped it into a wreath, and secured it with some twist ties. I love easy and inexpensive wreaths like this! Hope this helps, Delaney!

A weird side angle of the living room as proof tha A weird side angle of the living room as proof that a giant TV does in fact exist in here, and we are just a normal family who loves movie nights snuggled up on the couch with the dog & football Sundays with all the yummy food during the game (one benefit of having an open concept living/dining room). I purposely placed the TV in a spot where it isn’t the main focal point of the room and designed the space to draw your eye to other much prettier things like the big picture window just to the left of this photo.

Want to try something like this in your living room? See if you can arrange the furniture so the TV isn’t the main focal point in the room, but still has visibility from the majority of your seating. Try making the focus a fireplace, window, or create a gallery wall with pretty artwork if you don’t have any standout architectural elements!

Just a little tidbit of advice I’ve learned & loved & wanted to pass along... Happy Monday, sweet friends!

I have some fun things to share with you on the blog this week & several house projects going on (the dining & living room are looking SO good!!), but I need to recharge and spend some quality time doing my most important job on this Earth... taking care of my people. 🤍

What are your plans for the weekend? Whatever they are, I hope you have a chance to laugh, rest, eat something delicious, and enjoy a little sunshine (even if it’s sitting indoors because it’s very brrrr outside)!

Quite possibly my favorite view in the house. And Quite possibly my favorite view in the house. And also quite possibly the best place for morning snuggles, second cups of coffee, and the occasional Netflix binge. This room was “shiplapped” over 5 years ago now, but it has never felt like a passing fad or overly trendy with a mix of other vintage & traditional elements in the room. These big, wide planks have my whole heart just as much as the day we installed them back in 2015.

What’s your opinion on shiplap? In? Out? Vertical? Horizontal? Focal wall or the entire room? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

NEW! THE ARMSTRONG HOUSE LIVING ROOM REVEAL Last NEW! THE ARMSTRONG HOUSE LIVING ROOM REVEAL

Last time I shared an update on Mom’s house, I had just revealed the completed renovation, and you were able to see all the freshly painted white walls, new carpet & flooring, and a very stark blank canvas. We intentionally made this space light, bright, & neutral since 1) it’s a rental home, and we want it to appeal to a variety of styles. And 2) it’s VERY small, so the light paint makes it feel much more open & spacious than dark paint would! But all those white walls were in desperate need of a warm, cozy touch, and that’s exactly what Mom and I did…

These are a few of my favorite things... 1️⃣ These are a few of my favorite things...

1️⃣ a piece of handmade art that brings me back to my elementary schools days of paper mache creations. I saw something similar in a store with a much higher price tag & got inspired to see if I could recreate it myself. Spoiler alert: it worked & the tutorial is on my blog! search “pressed flower art” on lovegrowswild .com

2️⃣ my favorite white vases that we sold in the shop @lovegrowswildmarket this past year

3️⃣ my growing collection of interior design books. Naturally more of a minimalist, I have very few “collections” of things, but having beautiful books around the house that I can both decorate with & draw inspiration from has been one of the best gifts to myself over the last year. You can find all my current favorite design books in the link below.

Oh, and 4️⃣ a faux plant because who has time to remember to water real ones?
