I’m in the planning phase of a few exciting new projects and makeovers around the farmhouse now that the holidays are over with, but it will be another week or so before I really have anything started and ready to blog about. So today I thought I’d share something I’ve been wanting to do for awhile now, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on if you want to see more of this on the blog!
As much as I would love to decorate and redecorate my house on a weekly basis to give you guys fresh design inspiration all the time, the budget-conscious, responsible side of me tries to limit my spending and also reminds me that we’re already maxed out on storage space at the farmhouse. So I’d like to start sharing design boards on the blog once or twice a month where I put together a gorgeous room design and give you all the links where you can shop for the items I pick! How’s that sound? I get to pretend like I’m still online shopping like there’s no tomorrow, and you get new ideas for redecorating your home! : )
This first design board is for a bedroom, and I am obsessed with the cozy, relaxed winter vibe. The white metal bed frame with curved details is the main focal point, and I paired it with soft, flowy, ruffled white curtains and an ivory area rug to keep the design light, bright and airy. The natural wood tones on the nightstands and driftwood wreath warm the space, and vintage elements like the distressed lamps and old clock give the room some character. When I think decorating the house for winter, I picture myself wrapped up in a warm blanket in front of a roaring fireplace… soft pillows everywhere in rich velvet and faux fur. I love the different textures of these pillows together all lined up on the bed, and the black and ivory bear pillow is just too cute for words! And when the temperatures drop below freezing, who wouldn’t want to be cuddled up with that gorgeous blanket? For the bedding, I love the look of gray striped sheets with a simple white quilt or comforter on top. And for the accessories I picked a textured woven basket perfect for storing books or extra pillows and a collection of botanical art prints that play perfectly with the neutral color scheme. Wouldn’t this room be wonderful to kick your shoes off at the end of a long day in and curl up for a long winter’s nap?

This is so nice and relaxing.
That’s a great idea. I’d love to see more design boards. In regards to this bedroom do you have suggestions for a dresser?
Hi Rebecca! Yes, I have a few options that I think would be perfect for this room: 1 (in white), 2 (in white), 3
Thanks, I have been looking for an oversized wall clock. Love the pillows too.
