Inexpensive Framed Giraffe Kids Art

I have another fun piece of artwork from our kid’s playroom makeover to share with you today! This Framed Giraffe Kids Art was created simply with a dollar store frame and some paper. It adds a whimsical touch to the room and was very inexpensive to make!
Inexpensive Framed Giraffe Kids Art by Love Grows Wild
I hope you’re not tired of my playroom projects yet. It’s been so much fun adding bright splashes of color to the kid’s space, since the rest of my house is totally decorated in neutrals!
I recently added white shelves in our playroom over the toy storage bins, and I wanted some inexpensive artwork to help fill up the shelf space. I got the idea for this sweet giraffe art from NanaCompany and decided to recreate it with scrapbook paper instead of fabric!

Inexpensive Framed Giraffe Kids Art by Love Grows Wild
I simply cut a giraffe silhouette from some blue polka dot scrapbook paper and glued it to a piece of white card stock. If you’re not the best free-hand drawer (like me!), you can find lots of giraffe shapes on Google Images!
To bump up the cuteness factor, I wrote a sweet message from Mr. Giraffe in a pretty cursive font with a black fine tip Sharpie.

I found a silver 8 x 10 frame from The Dollar Tree (gosh, I love that store!) and framed my little giraffe inside.

Super cute new art for our playroom makeover for a grand total of $1 = Awesome!
Wouldn’t this be adorable in a baby’s nursery?
Do you shop the dollar stores for crafty decor ideas? Tell me what you’ve made!

I want to give each and every one of you a huge hug for the sweetest comments on my post yesterday where I revealed the new bookcases & lighting in my living room. It’s taken me almost 9 years of trial & error to figure out what looks best where in our home, and I’m still tinkering & playing with things daily. I hope if nothing else, you come here or my blog and feel inspired to try something new, enjoy the process, and feel like YOU CAN make your home your favorite place in the world to be. That even the smallest budget can make big changes in your home. And I hope you feel like you’re part of a community of women who encourage & support each other through the ups & down of life.

I guess I’m feeling a little sentimental today, but it truly inspires me hearing from you guys whether it’s a comment, a message, or a sweet share. Ya’ll are the best. Enjoy your Thursday, sweet friends.

NEW BLOG POST >> and this project might be my favo NEW BLOG POST >> and this project might be my favorite I’ve done in awhile! I wanted to add more of a wow factor to this big blank wall in the living room behind the sofa, and two inexpensive IKEA bookcases later + a little bit of diy customizing + two of the prettiest wall sconces that plug in (no hardwiring required šŸ™ŒšŸ»)... I can’t stop looking at how amazing this turned out!!

I have all the details in today’s blog post including:
- how I customized the bookshelves
- where I found my plug-in lights
- the biggest tip I’ve learned for styling shelves like these
- plus sources for everything you see here (including the new coffee table I’m obsessed with)

I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this project!! Do you love bookcase lighting as much as I do?

I hope you had a wonderful, restful weekend! I wan I hope you had a wonderful, restful weekend! I wanted to kick the week off with one of my favorite winter decorating tips. Once all the holiday decor is gone, I always crave clean & simple spaces. But soon the house goes from feeling soothing to slightly boring, and I need something to breathe a little life back into our home. Do you ever feel the same?

The easy answer: PLANTS. Faux, real... whatever works for you. It’s the perfect detail to get us through the dreariness of winter and ready for spring. I’m always a fan of faux because they’re just easier, but I do really love this sweet little angel vine I’ve had for several years now!

What’s your favorite house plant? And also, how easy is it to keep alive? 🌿
