Vintage Plane Photo Wall

I’ve been decorating my boy’s new bedroom for the past few months and love coming up with DIY artwork to fill their empty walls. So far I’ve posted about my Ruler Growth Chart, Definition of a Hero Signs, Rain Gutter Book Shelves, and Paper Airplane Mobile. Today I’ll share with you the how I created the simple and inexpensive Vintage Plane Photo Wall for their room!
When we moved into our new home, we soon discovered we lived right down the road from a small airport that hosts amazing air shows with beautiful vintage airplanes. The boys and I could stand in our backyard watching the planes soar, dive, twist and turn… so cool!
We went to one of the air shows this Summer, and I snapped these photos with my regular, old point and shoot camera:
I printed the pictures and hung them together in inexpensive black frames from Wal-Mart. It probably cost me less than $15 total!

Here’s some tips on how to turn your photos into frame-worthy pieces of art:

– Use interesting angles
– Look for words or numbers
– Enlarge details
– Convert into black and white

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing the progress on the boy’s room as much as I’ve enjoyed decorating it! Just a few more little projects and it will be all finished!

These really turned out strikingly beautiful. I’m not particularly interested in plane but I love how you unified the prints and got creative with composition. Terrific!
