Hello! My name is Liz, and I’m so happy you stopped by! Let me tell you a little about myself…
Those who know me best often call me Mini Martha. Whether it’s cooking a good meal for my family, creating handmade cards for loved ones, throwing a fabulous party, or teaching myself to sew, I love everything about being a homemaker.
I grew up being very much a girly-girl, with one sister who I never would have guessed would today be my best friend. I’ve always been passionate about my creative side and was involved in everything from dance and show choir, to speech and cheerleading. After graduating, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my life. I never would have imagined what fate had in store for me…
I met my country-boy husband, Jeremy, in 2008 via the internet (thanks e-Harmony!), and quickly fell in love. I moved two hours South from my hometown in Northern Illinois to start my life with Jeremy and his adorable 2-year-old son, Alec. I instantly went from a single 20-year-old living in my Mom’s house, to being a homemaker, a secretary for Jeremy’s business, and a Mom … a role I’ve always dreamed about.
Needless to say, there was quite a bit of adjusting we all had to make. Especially for me, who had no idea that living “out in the country” meant literally living in the middle of a corn field in the middle of no where! 15 minutes from the nearest gas station, 45 minutes from the nearest grocery store (that sells more than bread, milk, and canned beans), and 50 minutes from any kind of shopping or restaurants! Talk about torture! But I learned to love my life out in the country with my two boys, and in September of 2009 we welcomed another baby boy, Wyatt, into our family.
life just sometimes gets in the way of these of things 🙂
On our one year anniversary, we packed up and made a long-awaited move to our new home in Indiana. My husband spent the winter renovating a home for us on his family’s farm, and I couldn’t wait to move 5 minutes from town… with all the shopping and restaurants I could want!
So now I spend my days decorating our new home, cooking up lots of yummy food, caring for my sweet boys, and blogging about it all! I never dreamed I would end up living out in the country in a house full of boys, but I’m truly living the dream I never knew I had.
