This summer I made the decision to give up my beloved master bedroom and start a massive room swap project to better accommodate our current needs as a family. My oldest son, Alec, is now graduated and out of the house, and my youngest son, Wyatt, really wanted some extra space. After a lot of brainstorming, I came up with a plan to move all the bedrooms and my home office around, giving Wyatt the largest bedroom upstairs, adding a guest bedroom, and moving my bedroom down to the main floor. The easiest place to start was moving my office into Alec’s old bedroom, and just a few weeks ago I shared the big reveal of my new home office here.
The next step of this project is moving my bedroom downstairs into my old office, and that’s exactly what I’ve been busy working on. Welcome to part 2 of the big room swap – master bedroom edition!
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing the whole process of converting my office into my new master bedroom with little daily episodes shared on social media – so be sure you are following me on Instagram and Facebook if you aren’t already!
From painting the entire room and creating a custom walk-in closet…

Liz, how sweet of you to swap rooms so your teenage son has more space for his final years at home. You have the sweetest heart and are always thinking of others. Everything is turning out so beautifully! I love your style!
