Hi, my name is Liz, and I’ve cursed more times at the rugs in our house than I probably should admit to you. Let me explain…
Do you ever get frustrated when you find the perfect area rug for your living room, runner for a hallway, or doormat for your front door, but they always manage to slip and slide all over the place? Instead of staying perfectly positioned where you put them, they end up bunched up halfway across the room? Me too, friend. Me too.
I’ve wasted money on all different kinds of rug tape, sticky pads, rug pads of various price points, and more – nothing worked, especially with two kids and two dogs running around the house. Even my living room rug that has multiple furniture pieces anchoring the corners and edges couldn’t be contained.
Several months ago, I decided I either needed to find a solution where I wasn’t constantly having to move our rugs back in place or I was going to burn every rug we have.
Okay, that’s a little dramatic… but it really was driving me crazy.
I took a chance on a very specific brand/type of rug pad that has a textured felt surface on top (which completely grips the back of your rug without any adhesive needed) and a rubber bottom that grips the floor and does not let the rug move. This rug pad:
- is one of the only to have a U.S. patent
- does not contain any harmful chemicals
- made in the USA
- works on wood, tile, marble, concrete, vinyl, laminate, and heated floors
- comes in a variety of sizes from 2 x 3′ all the way up to 12 x 20′, and can be cut down if needed
The first time I purchased one of these rug pads, it pained me to shell out the extra money when rugs themselves are already not cheap. But when I tell you it’s been worth every penny and then some…
I just bought one of these rug pads for every single rug in my house. THAT’S how good these are. I cannot recommend this little design tip enough!
Here are some of the most common rug sizes, but they have many more you can choose from including round, oval, runners, and more:
2 x 3 | 3 x 5 | 4 x 6 | 5 x 8 | 6 x 9 | 8 x 10 | 9 x 12 | 12 x 15
6′ round | 8′ round | 10′ round | 12′ round
2 x 6 runner | 3 x 8 runner | 3 x 10 runner
If you’re looking for another size, you can likely find it either here or here. Remember, you can always trim the rug pad down if it’s too big!
And no, this is not sponsored in any way by this company – I researched on my own, paid full price for the product, and just genuinely couldn’t keep this decorating secret to myself!

Does it work over wall to wall carpeting? 🤞
That’s a great question! It doesn’t specify in the product details if it works on carpet, but I think it would be worth trying because you can always return to Amazon if you find that it doesn’t work well. I would just double check the return policy first to make sure! You’ll have to let me know if you try it!
