I just got back from my mini vacation with my kids, and I’m exhausted! We had so much fun visiting family and splashing around at the water park, but I’m ready to get back to normal! Luckily my sweet mother-in-law volunteered to keep the boys for a few extra days during their spring break so I could come home and catch up on things… mostly blog work and laundry! So while I’m waist-deep in dirty clothes, I’ll let my sweet friend, Kara, from Happy Go Lucky share a fun project with you today! I’ll be back on Friday with a new post : )

————————————————————

Hi everyone!

My name is Kara, and I’m so excited to be a guest on Love Grows Wild. I blog over at Happy Go Lucky where I share fun, easy and inexpensive craft projects.

One of my favorite things to make is jewelry.

Easy Ombre Earrings Tutorial from Happy Go Lucky for Love Grows Wild #tutorial #diy #jewelry #ombre

Today we are going to make these easy ombre earrings.

Purple is my favorite color so when I found these ombre beads at AC Moore I couldn’t wait to get home and make something out of them.

All you need to make your own ombre earrings are:

3 different colored teardrop beads

chain

jump rings

earring hooks

round nose pliers

headpins or wire

Easy Ombre Earrings Tutorial from Happy Go Lucky for Love Grows Wild #tutorial #diy #jewelry #ombre

Step 1:  Add jump rings to each bead.  Use headpins to create loops on larger beads.

Step 2:  Separate your chain so you have two pieces with 5 links.

Step 3:  Add earring hooks to one end of the chain

Step 4:  Add two light beads to the first link of the chain right under the earring hook.  Add two more light beads to the second link.

Step 5:  Continue adding two beads to each link until you have your desired length.  Then add the darkest bead to the last link (you will have 3 beads on the last link).

Step 6:  Put on your new earrings and admire yourself in the mirror (because that is what you will want to do).

So what do you think?

Simple enough!  Trust me – if I can do it, you can definitely do it!!

I would love for you to come visit me over at Happy Go Lucky and say “hi”!

Happy Go Lucky

Thanks Liz for having me as your guest today.  It’s been a blast.

How gorgeous are those earrings? I want Kara to make me a pair!! I’ve never tried making any jewelry, but she makes it seem so simple! Thanks so much to Kara for sharing this with us and hanging out at Love Grows Wild today! {HUGS}
