After gently cleaning the dust off the records, I laid them out on a table to visualize where I wanted each color to go. I decided to put them in a square with four rows of four records, but you could go crazy with the shape or color pattern of your records!
After contemplating how to best hang the records on the wall, I found this Scotch Permanent Mounting Tape at Hobby Lobby and thought it would be perfect!
You can find a similar mounting tape here:Scotch Permanent Mounting Tape
I just cut 2″ pieces of tape to use on the top and bottom of the records, peeled off the backing and stuck them on the wall! It couldn’t be easier and I didn’t have to make a single nail hole! I just love those kind of projects : )
I added a green rug and an old rocking chair to make their reading corner nice and cozy. I’d love to paint the bookcase and chair someday, but for now I added a pillow I made using extra fabric from their curtain valances.
Let’s Keep In Touch!
P.S. I’m sharing this post at some awesome link parties… Check them out HERE!
What a fun wall art idea! And I think .50 a record was probably a steal! I need to go antiquing again!!!
This is cute! I like the bright colors.

Oh my goodness! This is an ah-mazing idea! I love it! ๐

a great and colorful idea for the wall…
Totally LOVE it Liz!! So creative!!
Thanks so much for partying at The DIY Dreamer.. From Dream To Reality! Can’t wait to see what you link up tomorrow evening!! xoxo
FABULOUS idea, and one I would like to do on a LARGE SCALE because I have HUNDREDS of 45 RPM records. (Yes, I AM old, LOL!)
So, my only concern is: I have some of that foam mounting tape, but wouldn’t it take the paint–and maybe some of the finish on the sheet rock–with it if you ever took it down?
I don’t envision TAKING it down myself, but the next owner of this house may not be as impressed with it as I am!
Any advice would be welcome!

Hi Jayni! I’ve read that using a hair dryer to heat the tape before removing helps to not damage the wall. I’ve also read Goo Gone can help remove the adhesive, but it is not recommended for use on flat paint. Worse case scenario, I’ll have to use a little spackle and paint to cover any damaged areas, but it is totally worth it for how awesome the record wall turned out!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and good luck with your own record wall!
What a great use for the records, and the colours really pop out against the wall, it looks great.
Cute! I think record walls are a cool idea! I had a neighbor who was a DJ, and he had records totally covering the walls and the ceilings.

That is super fun! I have most of my old records…I long for a day when I get a record player again! I love this look – I will be on the hunt for old records I don’t want to listen to! (I hope that made sense…I am exhausted). CUTE!
Super cute!!! LOve this project! Thanks so much for sharing. Would love to have you visit me sometime.
Have a fabulous day!

What a great idea for a family room — and a “history” lesson too as my kids would say! Love how the eye follows the colors — nice job! Thanks so much for sharing on Busy Monday!
I love this idea! If you want to be able to take them down easily without damaging the paint, you could also use the Command velcro strips.
Love it! Our play room has a bare wall. It’s a pretty big space and I was trying to find something easy that would cover lots of wall, I love this!
I have a Salvation Army store super close by and the records are also $1 (half off on Fridays). I’m totally gonna hit it this Friday!!!
