Fall into Home Tour | Our Entryway

Welcome to my little farmhouse, sweet friends. As you step through the door, this entryway is the first thing you see, so I always try to make this space feel cozy and inviting. The changing seasons give me an excuse to have a little fun with the decor in our entryway, and I love relaxed, casual look I created this year with candles, textured pillows, soft blankets, pretty flowers, and of course plenty of pumpkins.

Softening the Farmhouse

You know how little girls like to play dress up with their dolls? Or how mothers with daughters get to buy cute, ruffly dresses and bows for them to wear? Well, I’m a mom of boys, and the definition of playing dress up around here involves super hero costumes with masks and a weapon. Still cute, but not quite the same. ūüôā

That’s part of the reason I think I love interior design and decorating my farmhouse so much. It allows me to be creative and try different things, and I’ve noticed that my style lately has leaned more towards a much more feminine, softer vintage farmhouse feel. I adore the industrial look of hard metal and dark rustic wood, but at this stage of my life (newly single) my heart is drawn more to soft lace and ruffles and faded wood tones and light, bright white spaces. I’ve noticed that my design choices have been slowly softening our home, and I love the blend of feminine romance and vintage farmhouse that is happening.

I think it all started when I designed my master bedroom…

Christmas Lights at Night

Christmas is now just around the corner, and today I get to share with you one of my favorite posts of the whole year. Over the last month or so I’ve given you a tour of what our little farmhouse looks like all decorated for Christmas during the day, but we all know that¬†the true magic of the holidays happens at night when it’s all dark in the house except for the glow of Christmas lights on the tree. It’s beautiful and calm¬†and¬†peaceful and gives you a feeling unlike any other time of the year.

I’m so lucky to be part of the Christmas Nights Tour again this year with some amazing bloggers, and if you are just coming from visiting Kristen’s home at Ella Claire Inspired, I welcome you!

See this beautiful farmhouse all lit up at night for Christmas!

My hope for this tour is that you leave feeling the true spirit of Christmas… the quiet moments at home snuggled up by the Christmas tree¬†and singing Christmas carols together and leaving milk and cookies¬†for Santa on Christmas Eve. Here is our quiet, cozy little farmhouse glowing at night with Christmas lights…

Fall Bedroom + Fall Into Home Tour

Welcome back to more fall decorating at the farmhouse, sweet friends! Today I am sharing one of my favorite spaces¬†in the¬†whole house, our cozy master bedroom, and I also have an exciting home tour to share with you! If you’re new here or just catching up, I’ve already¬†shared a few different rooms over the last few weeks¬†all decorated for fall, but when my dear friend, Rachel from Maison de Pax, asked me to join in her Fall Into Home Tour this year, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. So today I’m sharing the first look at our fall bedroom, recapping the other spaces¬†I’ve already decorated, and giving you 13 other home tours you can check out next!

Our master bedroom is located on the second level and took quite a bit of imagination to turn this dark, awkward attic space into a bright, beautiful, relaxing retreat. We added wide, rustic planks to all the walls and painted them white, which really helped to lighten up the space. Then we created a cozy nook for our farmhouse style iron bed by adding a faux wood beam to the ceiling and hanging white lace curtains up inside of the beam to frame the bed area. It is such a peaceful, inviting space to fall asleep in every night and makes it very hard to leave every morning!
